Rajinikanth endorses Suriya
coming in support of suriya, rajini has sent a message to his detractors that he is on no political side.
Suriya has been dragged into a controversy after he expressed his views against the National Education Policy draft. BJP and AIADMK leaders roundly criticised him for airing views, which they said were negative. However, several film and political personalities like Kamal Haasan and Seeman came out in his support even as KS Ravikumar and Vijay's dad SA Chandrashekar joined them in extending support of the star who portrayed a politician in NGK.
Sureprstar Rajinikanth had been maintaining a stoic silence on the issue that has been taken up seriously by many in the Tamil Nadu political circles even as Suriya himself was accused of trying to gain free publicity for his upcoming film by speaking up like this.
Rajini broke his silence finally and came out to support Suriya saying, "I am endorsing Suriya's views on NEP draft". At the audio launch of Suriya starrer Kaappaan, Rajini said, "Someone said here that if I speak about the new draft on National Education Policy, the message would have been conveyed to Modiji. I think Modiji has heard Suriya's voice itself and I strongly support his views, which are completely honest. I saw another face of Suriya a few days back."
The NEP has been a political hot potato in Tamil Nadu with two divergent views on the subject of the draft. While the national ruling party BJP and its ally AIADMK have endorsed the 400-plus page document in its totality, several others, including the DMK party honchos, have roundly criticised aspects of the draft. They have also pointed out that suspicions are raised over where it stands on reservation etc.
