Vijay Sethupathi forays into Telugu
The actor is said to be seen as a British guard in the movie.
Fresh from the success of Vikram Vedha, Vijay Sethupathi is busy with a slew of projects at different stages of production. The actor is now all set foray into Tollywood with director Surender Reddy’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, a biopic of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy being his debut film in Telugu, he will be sharing screen space with legendary actors Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan in the flick. The first-look of the film was unveiled yesterday at Hyderabad. A source close to the team has revealed that the actor will be seen playing a British guard in the movie. “Vijay’s character will have an interesting transition from negative to positive. While he starts off as an opposition to the freedom fighter, he will eventually lend support. Vijay was approached nearly a month ago to be a part of the film. He was quite kicked about it and agreed almost immediately. He was excited that he’d be sharing screen space with a legendary figure like Chiranjeevi.”
Actors Nayanthara, Ravi Kishan, Sudeep and Jagapati Babu are part of this prestigious project. AR Rahman, who rarely does Telugu films, will be scoring music for this film which is bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja. Interestingly, the film also marks Chiranjeevi’s 150th project.
