Vijay sends Rs 70 lakh aid to Kerala flood victims
A spokesperson confirms that Vijay has issued cheques to representatives of the Kerala Fan Club in 15 districts.
It’s no secret that actor Vijay Thalapathy is hugely popular in Kerala. His fans have even erected a robotic statue of him there! And he’s not shying away from reciprocating the love in their time of need.
It is learnt that Thalapathy has contributed Rs 70 lakh towards the rebuilding of the state ravaged by heavy rains, floods, and landslides, which makes him the biggest individual contributor from Kollywood.
A spokesperson confirms that Vijay has issued cheques to representatives of the Kerala Fan Club in 15 districts to make sure that the aid reaches the affected persons at the earliest. Besides money, he’s also sent them 15 lorries full of relief items such as rice, dal, sugar, wheat flour, biscuits, bed sheets, sanitary napkins and milk powder. Reportedly, the Thalaiva star is in touch with flood relief camps across the state, and the Kerala Fan Clubs are keeping him updated about the state of affairs.
Other members of the Tamil film industry have also been contributing generously to the Kerala CM’s Distress Relief Fund with AR Murugadoss, Prabhu and Vikram Prabhu, Keerthi Suresh, and director Shankar, giving '10 lakh each.
