Women's kabaddi Tamil film interests Chinese

The reception for Indian movies, as in films like Dangal and the Baahubali franchise, has been quite good in the Chinese market. Following the trend, a Tamil movie has now captured the interest of the Chinese. Susienthinran’s upcoming directorial Kennedy Club, themed on women’s kabbadi, is being dubbed in Mandarin after the rights were reportedly acquired for a whopping '2 crore.
The film is based on real life incidents revolving around a women’s kabaddi team and features veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja and Sasikumar in major roles.
The sporting theme of team spirit, crossing hurdles and meeting challenges have invariably been the heart and soul of international movies based on sports and games. The Kennedy Club, set against a Palani backdrop, will also include some real women kabaddi players as well. It has an ensemble supporting cast incluidng Samuthirakani, Soori, Munishkanth, newcomer Meenakshi, Gayathri, Neethu, Sowmya, Smrithi and Soundarya.
