Suriya injured
Suffers hairline rib fracture on the sets of Kanguva
Suriya, who has been shooting for Kanguva, directed by Siruthai fame Siva, in Chennai, was injured during an action episode. Apparently, Suriya, who was standing on a 10-ft ladder during the filming of the scene, lost his balance when he was inadvertently hit by a rope camera, and had a fall. The incident happened on Wednesday night.
He was diagnosed as having suffered a hairline rib fracture.
“It’s a small mishap and luckily Suriya Sir is safe and doing fine,” said producer Gnanvel Raja, adding that the actor had been advised to rest for three weeks. “We rushed Suriya Sir to the hospital and several tests were conducted, after which he was discharged. He is doing fine,” the producer shared.
Although the Soorarai Pottru star was keen to resume shooting, the unit insisted that he should recuperate. “Suriya is a committed actor, but we didn’t want to take any risks. It’s a minor injury, so we are confident that he’ll be back on the sets soon,” the producer said.
The filmmakers are planning to shoot scenes with other cast members in the meantime, depending on their availability.
