Vijay Vasanth joins Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara

Actor Vijay Vasanth, who had an eventful 2016 with his films Chennai 600028: Second Innings and Achamindri, is looking ahead for 2017. The actor, who is busy shooting for a thriller film titled, My Dear Lisa, has also signed up a big project. The actor has been roped in by director Mohan Raja for his upcoming film, titled Velaikkaran. Starring Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil, this film is touted to be based on food adulteration. A source in the know reveals, “Yes, Raja sir decided that Vijay Vasanth would be a great addition to the team and got him on board for an important character. He is currently shooting his portions in Chennai.”

Rumours were rife that he plays a negative role. However, the source refutes them saying, “Vijay Vasanth plays the role of Sivakarthikeyan’s friend in Velaikkaran. Fahadh Faasil is the villain in the movie.” After wrapping up the current schedule in the slum sets erected by Muthuraj in Chennai, the team is likely to head to Malaysia for a 35-day schedule. The stellar cast of Velaikkaran includes Sneha, Prakash Raj, Thambi Ramaiah, Rohini, Sathish, RJ Balaji, Yogi Babu and Robo Shankar.
