While many seasoned actors vie to don the khaki but don’t get lucky, Mujeeb, who came from the US for a holiday to his native place, has landed himself a cop role purely by luck! Mujeeb was a spectator at a film’s shoot near his house, and a chance sighting by award-winning director Rajaganesan fetched him the opportunity to play a villainous cop in the film Mudhal Thagaval Arikkai (FIR).

Talking about as how his looks helped him get the role of a police officer, Mujeeb says, “A lot of people say that I have a striking resemblance to versatile actor Kishore. Rajaganesan sir also offered me this meaty role of a scheming police role after he was impressed with my looks.”

Even before Mudhal Thagaval Arikkai could release, two of Mujeeb’s films, Vilasam and Masala Padam, hit the screens recently.  “Many people came and asked me for an autograph mistaking me for Kishore sir, while we were shooting in Tanjore and Mannarkudi,” he reveals with a smile. “Depending on the response for this film, I may consider continuing in movies,” he concludes.
