Raghava Lawrence confirms teaming up with noted writer Vijayendra Prasad for his next, being made in two parts, set in the backdrop of 18th and 19th century times. We all know that Vijayendra Prasad, father of ace director SS Rajamouli, was the writer of the Baahubali series, which is currently creating record box-office collections across the globe.

When we got in touch with Lawrence, he revealed how he landed the movie. “It was Prasad sir who had suggested that I would be apt for the lead role since the story is full of Tamil nativity,” he discloses.

He adds, “When he narrated the one-liner, I was floored. Without any hesitation, I gave my nod. Prasad garu is in the process of completing the script. The massive scale and the story demanded it be done over two parts.”

And the interesting aspect he reveals, is that the film is based on real-life historical incidents with a bit of fiction added to it — “The new film will be made as a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu.”

The Sivalinga actor also added that Kajal Aggarwal is in talks to play the heroine. Sources close to the actress say that she has been in touch with Vijayendra Prasad and Mahadev since her Magadheera days.

Once the final script is locked in, the makers of this ambitious project will decide about the massive sets that will be erected. We hear that they are yet to zero in on the location. “It will either be in Andra Pradesh or in Chennai,” a source adds.
