Sasikumar's pet project
Revealing that it is his eighth production venture, he is happy to have made films like Thalaimuraigal and Thaarai Thappattai.
Noted actor-filmmaker Sasikumar is back with his upcoming film Kidaari. “It is a realistic movie and there are various characters in the film. I play one of these realistic characters and not the hero,” Sasi says candidly.
Revealing that it is his eighth production venture, he is happy to have made films like Thalaimuraigal and Thaarai Thappattai. “Kidaari is yet another gem from my banner. I always choose movies closer to reality and an emotional connect with audiences,” he explains.
About his co-star Nikhila, “We wanted to cast a new heroine for the film. After searching in vain, I suggested Nikhila with whom I did Vetrivel earlier. Unlike her docile character in Vetrivel, here she essays a bubbly girl. She was very focused and helped us complete the shoot quickly.” (smiles)
Heaping praise on director Prashanth, Sasi adds, “When I heard the script from Prashanth, it was so fascinating, that I felt like directing the movie in addition to acting in it! He has a firm grip on the medium, and among all my films, Kidaari was completed in just 65 days. The credit goes to cinematographer Kathir, who worked in tandem with the director.”
