Raj Kumar's experimental One'
The film is expected to grace the screens soon.
Vengayam was an interesting effort by Sankagiri Raj Kumar, which was critically acclaimed, but failed commercially. Nevertheless, Raj Kumar is soon gearing up with his next release titled One, where he is attempting something quirky, which no one has ever tried. Besides writing the script, as well as directing and producing the venture, he has handled 24 other departments like music, lyrics, camera, sound, editing, VFX, dubbing, etc.
The surprising part is that there is only one actor in the film — himself — who plays 300 different characters!
Speaking to DC, Raj Kumar says, “One is a sci-fi flick which has the concept — ‘it’s the end of the world’. I wanted to prove that with the advancement in technology — it is possible to make a commercial film with just a single person, who could handle all the crafts. The story is about four friends (all played by Raj Kumar), who enter a forest area where they see an old factory. Inside the factory, they find a strange phenomenon. What happens after that forms the crux.”
It took four years for him to complete the experimental film, which was extremely challenging. “At times, I was in depression and fell sick for many days. I thought that I had chosen to do something impossible! But, all said and done, today I have completed the project and it’s ready for release,” he shares in an
excited tone. The film is expected to grace the screens soon. An official confirmation is awaited.
