SAC recalls his first love
''When I was in eighth grade, I was attracted by the charm of one of the girls in school''.
At the promo event of Palli Paruvatthile, veteran filmmaker/actor SA Chandrashekar recalled his first love when he was in school and how the ‘feeling’ changed his course of his life.
Speaking at the star-studded event, SAC said, “I studied in a school at Kamankottai village in Paramakudi. When I was in eighth grade, I was attracted by the charm of one of the girls and sent love letters to her... she also reciprocated. Even as our romance was blooming, we came to know that our PT master also had an eye on her! My friends and I decided to teach the master a lesson and hit him heavily with an uruttu kattai (wooden log). This became a big issue in the school and it was brought up at a panchayat. Accordingly, the verdict was that my family including myself should leave the village immediately.
I was adamant and refused to leave. Gaining courage, I asked them to call the girl and told them I’d leave if she did not acknowledge my love. To my shock, the girl said she did not know who I was! You can guess the rest.” (laughs)
Palli Paruvatthile directed by Vasudev Bhaskar has Nandan Ram and Venba in the lead — and those including Nassar, Devyani, Pandiraj and Prabhu Solomon, who spoke on the occasion, hailed the pair for their realistic acting.
