Bollywood girls are much preferred to play female leads in Tamil cinema, but rarely do Bollywood actors get lead protagonist roles down south. An exception may be Rohit Saraf of Hichki and Dear Zindagi fame who has been roped in to play the hero for the debut film of director Rajashekar Duraisamy, a former associate of Lingusamy.
Talking about his film, Rajashekar says, “Titled Enge Andha Vaan, the film is an intense romantic drama. Anandhi, who was critically acclaimed for her alluring performance for the love saga Pariyerum Perumal, will be seen in the lead character of Kamali. Set in Kumbakonam, it is the story of a girl from a middle class family who studies in a government school. Her studiousness lands her a plum course in IIT-Madras. I have dealt with it in a poetic manner.”
“Rohit fitted my vision of the lead boy and he is learning Tamil from a private teacher,” Rajasekhar revealed. Pratap Pothen, Azhagam Perumal, Imman Annachi and Rekha are in the supporting cast. The movie has been filmed in places like Thiruvaiyaru, Kumbakonam, Gopichettypalayam, Hyderabad and Chennai while the climax was shot in New Delhi.
