Actors Darshan Thoogudeep, Devraj injured as SUV topples
The four were returning to Bengaluru after dinner at a friend's home, when the accident took place, according to the police.
Mysuru: Sandalwood stars Darshan Thoogudeep, Devraj and his son/actor Prajwal Devraj were injured when the Audi 27 series in which they were travelling toppled after hitting a median on the Outer Ring Road on a steep curve near Hinkal bridge junction in V V Puram traffic police station limits on Monday around 2.30 am. Darshan’s friend, Roy Antony, who was driving, was also injured in the accident.
All four are being treated at the Columbia Asia hospital here. While Darshan and Roy have both fractured their right hands, Devraj has fractured his fingers. Prajwal has, however, got away with minor injuries. The four were returning to Bengaluru after dinner at a friend’s home, when the accident took place, according to the police.
With fans of the actors rushing to the hospital, the police have beefed up security around it. Darshan, who happens to be the brand ambassador of the state forest department, had hosted a lunch for the families of mahouts and kawaadis of the Dasara elephants in the courtyard of the Mysuru Palace Sunday afternoon. Families of actor Devraj and a few other actors, who were in the city, also participated in the event, and later Darshan and actor, Srujan Lokesh adopted a giraffe, and Devraj’s family adopted a cheetah at the Mysuru zoo.
