Can't pull off a modern look: Arundhati Nair
She is paired opposite Vijay Antony in this film, directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy.
Arundhati Nair’s debut film Pongi Ezhu Manohara, didn’t get her the recognition she needed. But, the young actress is confident that her upcoming film Saithan will bring her laurels. She is paired opposite Vijay Antony in this film, directed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy.
Speaking about her role, “I play Aishwarya, Vijay Antony’s wife in the film. It is a mature character and the story revolves around me in the second half. According to me, acting in emotional scenes was easier than doing romantic scenes with the hero.”
About Saithan’s team, the 20-year-old actress says, “When I came to Chennai, a year ago, I was skeptical about portraying this role. But, Pradeep and Vijay Antony helped me with their inputs. Vijay Antony sat with me for two hours and I was able to dub in Tamil for the movie.”
Arundhati has a couple of films in the pipeline and wants to take it slow in K’Town — “I am getting a lot of offers, but I am taking my time to accept them. I think I will be able to portray the character of a homely girl well. I don’t think I can pull off a modern look.”
The actress now has Virumandiyum Sivanandiyum, and Pagal, the Tamil remake of Malayalam film 100 Degree Celcius, and an untitled film with Vidharth in different stages of production.
