In the context of the elections being around the corner, a poster with the line ‘May 16 - Elections and May 13 - Enna?’ (What’s on May 13) and no accompanying visual on walls in TN this Monday, created a lot of curiosity. Passers-by were clueless and wondered what it was all about.
Some suggested that May 13 is Bollywood actress and former pornstar Sunny Leone’s birthday, and she might be visiting the city. Some others said it could be a high profile store inauguration.
We finally came to know that it was a promo poster for the film Saaindhaadu, which is releasing on May 13. Directed by Ghazhali, the movie is a medical thriller with Adarsh and Anu Krishna playing the leads. “In the present scenario, making a film is easy, but to market it and reach the audience has become a tough proposition. People resort to quirky ideas to lure the audiences to the theatres. This is my way of creating a teaser to promote my film,” says Ghazhali who is also a well-known writer.
