Kabali goes to Thailand
Recently, a press interaction was held in Thailand, which was much needed for the promotion of the movie in the country.
Pa Ranjith’s Kabali starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Radhika Apte and Sai Dhansikaa went on to become a global phenomenon with their out-of-the-box marketing strategies. The dubbed version of this gangster drama raked in profits in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Malay and Mandarin. Now, Kabali is all set to be released in Thailand in nearly 100 theatres.
Parandhaman Thanu, CEO of V Creations (production house) stated that this collaboration with theatres in Thailand will help in bringing Thai films to India and vice versa. “When we were shooting for Kabali in Thailand, we met Her Royal Excellency of Thailand Mom Luang Rajadarasri Jayankura, and the meeting eventually caught the attention of the people. We partnered with Major Cineplex, who have a chain of nearly 300 theatres. For the first phase, we are releasing the film in 100 theatres on January 5. Also, we have planned a gala premiere on January 4,” he reveals.
Recently, a press interaction was held in Thailand, which was much needed for the promotion of the movie in the country. “We also have the Thai government’s support, so we are looking forward in bridging the gap between the two countries,” he adds.
Parandhaman further states, “This is the first Indian film to open the market in Thailand. Hence, we hired Thai technicians to take care of the editing, dubbing and sound mixing process. This has created huge expectations among the
audience here.”
