The film Jetli, which has a white pig as its central character, talks about world politics, says its director Jagan Sai. He also doubles up as one of the lead actors besides character artiste Kannan Ponnaiya. Salim Kumar, a national award winning actor from M’town essays a key role in the film.
Talking to DC, Jagan Sai says, “Any film which has animals playing the lead roles will be of interest to the family audience. Movies which had goats, dogs, snakes, horses, elephants, roosters, flies and fishes as part of the script were hits. Now, I am using a white pig in my film, which has significance to the story.”
He adds, “Though it is a comedy film, there’s also an important message in it. I have touched upon the issue of how multinational companies expand their market in our country.” The film has been shot in and around Chennai and the team would travel abroad for the next schedule. A few foreign technicians are also part of the movie. During their first look launch that was held recently, the makers also announced their next venture Idi Minnal Puyal Kadhal.
