Nalan Kumarasamy's new series on TN weddings
KKP tells ten contemporary tales of marriage that are based in different parts of Tamil Nadu.
Weddings are one of the most celebrated themes in entertainment — be it cinema, television or literature. And popular filmmaker Nalan Kumarasamy of Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum fame is all set to make the most of it. He’s making a foray into digital media with the web-series Kalyanamum Kadandhu Pogum (KKP) through Viu, a global video-on-demand platform similar to Amazon Prime and Netflix.
KKP tells ten contemporary tales of marriage that are based in different parts of Tamil Nadu. A comic take on weddings, these ten tales bring to life various characters of diverse age groups, economic backgrounds and origins. What unifies them is their desperation to get married, each for their own reasons.
Viu has also roped in Director Nadhini of Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru fame to make a vampire-based rom-com series called Nila Nila Nila Odi Vaa that follows the misadventures of an eccentric couple who fall in love against all odds.
