Vasanth Ravi is back with intriguing thriller

Rocky is in final stage of postproduction and is soon to hit the marquee.

The medico turned hero Vasanth Ravi is a happy man these days. His debut film Taramani with Andrea fetched him a lot accolades. Ravi tells DC, “Right from my young age, I had keen passion for acting. But my parents wanted me to complete my degree in medicine. Still me appetite for acting was intact and I joined a course at the famous Anupam Kher School of acting in Mumbai. Later, I did a course in Rajeev Menon’s School. A chance watch by director Ram landed me in Taramani.”

Offers started pouring in and he listened to close to 40 scripts post-Taramani, but he was waiting for the right one which would propel his career and finally, Rocky happened. “Rocky is a gangster revenge drama directed by Arun Madheswaran who was a former assistant to Thayagaraja Kumararaja. He has also penned dialogues for blockbuster Iruthi Suttru. When Arun narrated the script to me, it was very appealing and I didn’t let go the opportunity. Bharathiraja sir essays a role with negative shades. I was happy when the trailer released recently went viral and was received exceedingly well for its intriguing style.” Rocky is in final stage of postproduction and is soon to hit the marquee.

“All said and done, my dream is to work in a super hero subject, Ravi reveals. “I don’t mind working in a double hero subject provided my role is substantial.”
