I've learnt to handle my failures better: Karthi
... says Karthi during the success meet of his latest release TAO.
At the success meet of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Karthi revealed that he follows his brother Suriya’s advice when it comes to hard work, how people have stopped comparing his recent releases with his debut flick Parutthiveeran and how piracy has eaten away 50 per cent of profit.
“The success of this movie has given me a lot of confidence that I can try such new genres (which is neither a high commercial masala nor a very realistic movie) in future,” Karthi begins.
To reinstate the fact that hard work never fails, Karthi says, “I sincerely follow what my brother Suriya used to tell me. ‘Please keep working! One day, you will reap results.’ Each time when my film gets released, people always compare it with my debut film Parutthiveeran and comment that nothing comes near that flick. Now, finally I am happy that Theeran… has surpassed that and people say this is the best film of mine. Many have been appreciating me that I have worked hard in this film. But it was actually Kaatru Veliyidai that took huge efforts and was a physically challenging film in my career. But it did not give the desired results.”
On accepting hits and misses in life, he insisted a point that children should be taught to face failures. “If you have to grow, you should face failures. Instead of buying an Ipad or Iphone to children, prepare them saying that failures are part of life and they should not get dejected. Only then they will become stronger.”
He thanked the Police department, who were very cooperative while during the making of the film.
He also requested those who watched Theeran… in pirated version to watch with guilt and donate at lease hundred rupees to a deserved person in his name.
“Having given success, I will strive hard and keep trying to do good films,” he mentions.
Producer SR Prabhu, when asked how much percentage of loss a film incurs due to piracy, he said, “Every film incurs 40-50 per cent loss of collection due to piracy and government must seriously look into the issue.”
