Iniya plays a tribal woman in Pottu
In a chat with DC, Iniya narrates her experiences working in the horror movie.
Iniya is back in action with a dual role in the film Pottu. She will be seen in the titular role of Pottammal, as well as a modern city girl in the film. A horror thriller set in a medical college, Pottu has Bharath in the lead role. Namitha is playing an aghori while Srushti Dange will be seen as a medical student in the film. In a chat with DC, Iniya narrates her experiences working in the horror movie.
“The movie has all elements like action, drama, comedy and horror. It was really frightening when the director Vadivudayan shot the ghost portions in real graveyards at night-time. Of course, I do lot of prayers before entering the burial ground (laughs). Among the other ghost movies I have done, Pottu is something different. It needs lot of energy and hard work to pull off roles like this. All my tribal scenes were shot in the Kolli Malai hills,” she opens up.
About her co-star Bharath, she states, “He is very dedicated actor. Both our performances complement each other pretty well. The movie will take him to the next level.”
The Vaagai Sooda Vaa actress says that she wants to act more in Tamil industry. “Presently, I am working in Samuthirakani sir’s Akasha Mittayi opposite Jayaram. I’m also acting in a few M’town films including Rosa Pookalam, etc. So far, you would have seen me in homely characters. I prefer to do more modern roles in the future.”
She reveals that she was offered to be part of Bigg Boss in Tamil and Telugu, but due to prior work commitments, she could not accept them — “Oviya and I are good friends. She spoke to me before going to Bigg Boss and I am really happy for her. She has earned a big name through the reality show.”
