The first single Chumma Kizhi from Rajinikanth’s most anticipated film Darbar is out and fans are going crazy seeing their Thalaivar shaking the legs for the peppy number in the behind the scenes shots of lyric video released. The song composed by Anirudh begins where Rajini sporting black attire flips his hands even as he says Chumma Kizhi into the microphone.

Interestingly, Rajini has lent his voice for very few songs including a romantic number Adikkudhu Kuliru in Mannan and in Kochaadaiyaan, which was in recital format in AR Rahman’s composition.

Keeping up with Rajini’s intro song traditions, his lucky mascot ace singer S.P. Balasubramaniam has rendered the track. SPB takes over following Rajini’s cue and completes the full song, unlike in Petta where he sung only two lines in Marana Mass number.

The song ends with Rajini saying Chumma Kizhi in vera level with a trendy modulation and the video ends with Rajini commending Anirudh for the power-packed song saying, “Surely, this is going to tear in theatres!”.

Lyricist Vivek has included several references to Superstar’s achievements in the song, which celebrates Rajini. Darbar, which has Nayanthara as the female lead. It is directed by AR Murugadoss and slated for Pongal release.
