The director of Darling 2, Sathish Chandrasekaran, is all smiles as his film is going to hit the marquee sometime soon. He says, “There have been a lot of horror films releasing. But what makes Darling 2 special is that it’s based on real life incidents. I told the story to producer Gnanavel Raja. After listening to it, he suggested that we name the movie Darling 2. Previously, it was tentatively titled Jinn. This would be a sequel sorts to Darling, and the audience will relate to it easily. Sequels need not necessarily be a film with the same cast or script. The genre is good enough to retain the brand value.”
Sathish adds, “This film is based on my personal experience. It is the story of five friends who decide to break free from their monotonous office routine and embark on a journey to a hill station. Without knowing that a deadly spirit has possessed one of them, they travel together and check into a traveller’s bungalow. The spine chilling incidents that follow forms the rest of the movie.” Kalaiarasan of Madras fame, and Hari, Kaali, Venkat, Munishkanth and Arjunan form the cast.
