GV Prakash plays Vijay fan in Bruce Lee
The film will be on the lines of Soodhu Kavvum.
It is well-known that music director-actor GV Prakash has immense respect for Ilayathalapathy. He has already composed music for the actor’s Thalaiva and Theri, which was also Prakash’s 50th film as a composer.
Now, the latest we hear is that, he’ll be playing Vijay’s fan in his upcoming flick Bruce Lee, directed by 24-year-old newbie Prashanth, associate of Pasanga fame Pandiraj.
Prashanth says with a smile, “My hometown is Tiruchy and all of us back home are ardent Vijay fans. So, the character I created onscreen naturally likes him.”He quickly clarifies that the character is quite opposite to the film title though.
“When somebody is bold, you compare him with ‘Bruce Lee’. But, here, the hero is coward; whereas the heroine is pretty courageous! How he lands in trouble (for no fault of his) and faces challenges thrown to him, form the rest of the story. The whole script has been laced with humour and in fact, there are no action scenes!
The film will be on the lines of Soodhu Kavvum. Since Prakash has a natural flair for comedy, the film has so far come out good,” he adds.
The director tells us, “Bruce Lee will appeal to the younger lot and you’ll see Prakash in a different dimension altogether. We shot in and around Chennai and Tiruchy. 80 per cent of the film is complete and we have a couple of songs and a few talkie portions left. We’ll begin shooting the final schedule in the city soon.”
The film has Kriti Kharbanda, Rajendran, Bala Saravanan, Mansoor Ali Khan and Anandaraj, among others in pivotal roles. Vijay fans have a treat in store, alright!
