Muran director's next is Kattam
Newcomer Nandhan, Nivas Adithan and Sshivada Nair play the lead roles in the film produced by Rajan's wife Sandhya Jana.
Filmmaker Rajan Madhav, who made his directorial debut with Muran, starring Prasanna and Cheran in the lead roles, went into hibernation. After six years, the director is back with a crime thriller titled Kattam. Newcomer Nandhan, Nivas Adithan and Sshivada Nair play the lead roles in the film produced by Rajan’s wife Sandhya Jana.
Speaking to DC, Rajan says, “Kattam is a crime thriller with a social message. The plot revolves around four characters (played by Nandhan, Nivas, Sshivada and a clown) who get locked up in a building. How they get out of it forms the story. We have wrapped up the film and it was primarily shot in and around Chennai.”
When asked how Kattam is different from his debut flick, he says, “Muran was more of a psychological thriller. The word Kattam (grid in English) has four edges and that’s the reason I’ve written the script with four characters. It will be an engaging racy thriller.”
Composer duo Naveen and JC Paul, editor KJ Venkatramanan, cinematographer Demel Xavier Edwards, stunt master Rajasekar and art director JPK Prem, form the technical crew.
