The cast of the Tamil remake of Maheshinte Prathikaaram is becoming more formidable by the day.  The film’s  shooting has started in Kuttralam and surrounding areas, and  director-turned-actor Mahendran is now part of the project. Sources from the film team confirm that he will be seen as Udhayanidhi’s father in the film.

Mahendran, who played a menacing villain in last year’s super hit Theri, will be playing a role which is quite the opposite, in this project. “His role will be that of a soft-spoken and good-willed father, and has a prominent part to play in the progression of the story,” the source said. The scenes involving Udhay and Mahendran are currently being filmed in Kuttralam.

This yet-to-be-titled film is the story of a simple man from a village looking for revenge, but told in a comical way. Priyadarshan is said to have made changes in the script so as to suit Tamil audiences. Parvathy Nair and Namitha Pramod play the female leads. Darbuka Siva will be scoring the music for the film, while Ekambaram will be handling cinematography. Interestingly, Samuthirakani, who is playing a role in the film, is also penning the dialogues.
