Money is not important to me, good script matters most: Bindu Madhavi
Kazhugu 2 has a different story and is a thriller.
Bindu Madhavi is back with a bang after a long hiatus with Kazhugu 2. The actress says she was getting uninspiring scripts, including a few female centric films which she turned down, and was the reason why she took such a long break.
"Had money been important to me, I could have just added numbers to my kitty. For me the script should excite and my character should be impactful. And the first part of Kazhugu gave me a big break and a significant film in my career. Similarly Kazhugu 2 is an interesting flick,” says Bindu Madhavi.
Kazhugu 2 has a different story and is a thriller. It is about how wild dogs create havoc with villagers settled in the foothills of the Western Ghats. “The story unfolds in a forest and I do odd jobs there. There’s a beautiful love story interlaced. When I worked in the first part, the innocence associated with the girls belonging to hill stations came to me naturally. But now, I took training and have to work on my facial expressions. I have given a realistic performance. This would also give me a big break. I watched the film recently. I could not control my tears.”
Sharing her nightmarish experiences working in forest areas, she said, “Every day we had to walk several miles up the hill to reach the location. We witnessed several wild animals and the ‘fear factor’ was there throughout the shoot. There were leeches everywhere and when all others would sport a pair of shoes, I would be barefooted. Leech bites were inevitable. My leg would become red. And, since light will go off soon, we would shoot at a stretch."
A former Bigg Boss contestant she says she watches BB 3 regularly. She also admits that she is not a fan of action movies. “I like only romantic stories.”
Talking about Amala Paul’s Aadai where she has performed a bold role, Bindu says, "I haven’t seen the film yet, although I heard lots about it. I respect Amala a lot, which has gone manifold after Aadai. I heard she also gave up part of her salary for the release of the film. This has also happened to me in the past and I have waived my salary. After all, having worked hard, we all want the film to get released," she signs off with a smile.
