Daniel Balaji turns henchman in Bairavaa
Daniel Balaji plays a crucial role in Vijay's Bairavaa and a cameo in Gautham Vasudev Menon's AYM.
Daniel Balaji, best known for playing villainous roles in movies like Polladhavan and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, now has five projects lined up for release. After his performance as a baddie in Vai Raja Vai in 2015, the actor is yet to see a release in 2016. In a candid conversation, Daniel talks about Vijay, Bairavaa, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada and more.
Daniel is all praises for Vijay’s humble personality. “While shooting for Bairavaa, it was surprising to see how Vijay cared for every team member. He would encourage everyone on the sets. In the film, I play a henchman to Jagapathi Babu and will be sporting a beard. I still have three scenes left to be shot, out of which, one is with Vijay and the other with Jagapathi Babu,” he reveals.
The Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu actor also talks about his great rapport with director Gautham Menon — right from the Minnale days. “I used to be part of the production team when Minnale was shot. Then, I got a role in Kaakha Kaakha. One day, Gautham casually called me and said that he would need me for three scenes in the film, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamayada and its Telugu version. A simple phone call and I obliged,” he confesses.
The actor is now shooting for Gaurav Narayanan’s untitled film and Vetri Maaran’s Vada Chennai. On a concluding note, Daniel disclosed that he will be sporting an 80’s get-up in Vada Chennai and that the first schedule has been
completed.
