Prakash Raj clarifies it's fake news'
In earlier gatherings the actor has been heard to remark openly, I am not anti-Hindu but I am anti-Modi, anti-Amit Shah and anti-Hegde .
No stranger to controversy, the actor Prakash Raj has been accustomed to being outspoken on many issues concerning the society and politics. He voices his opinions freely on the social media and is frequently seen expressing himself on wider issues while speaking at cinema and public events too.
There was buzz again as Prakash Raj seemed to wade some more into controversy by putting up a post saying things about Hindus being wiped out from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir. While people might have assumed that the bold actor was just stirring up things once again, Prakash Raj made his intentions clear by stamping his image and his purported words with “Fake News” to make it clear that he was not the author of those comments.
The post features his image with the lines — “All Hindus should learn secularism. Hindus have been wiped out from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Kashmir. They never sought revenge from Muslims. They silently embraced death. All Hindus should learn secularism and tolerance from those Hindus.”
It appears the actor did this only to kill a canard being spread that he had actually said these lines in the course of various speeches with heavy political overtones and in his known defiance of the national ruling party. He wished to clarify that he had not made such insensitive statements at all.
Someone is trying to defame him, he claims. Prakash Raj wrote, “By spreading such lies, instead of debating my views, you are proving to the world, how frustrated, desperate and the cheap levels you can stoop down.” He also urged those who follow him on social media to rewteet the “Fake News” post, “Dear citizens, please like and re-tweet this to show such cowards that we stand for a fearless Society which questions.”
In earlier gatherings the actor has been heard to remark openly, “I am not anti-Hindu but I am anti-Modi, anti-Amit Shah and anti-Hegde”. Those comments triggered a huge controversy.
