Amy Jackson backs out of Queen remake
The British actress has decided to opt out of the project citing date issues.
Bollywood film Queen is getting a reboot in all the four south Indian languages. Though the news has been making the rounds for years, it had undergone several changes in its cast and on the production front as well. Recently, the Kannada and Tamil version of Queen, titled Butterfly and Paris Paris respectively were launched with great fanfare.
While Kajal Aggarwal and Parul Yadav are doing the Tamil and Kannada version respectively, Tamannaah and Manjima Mohan will star in the Telugu and Malayalam remakes. The one common factor in all the four remake versions was Amy Jackson reprising Lisa Haydon’s character. However, in a sudden turn of events, the 2.0 actress has backed out the remakes due to unavailability of dates.
A source tells us, “The producers were willing to pay her a huge sum to get her to do the part, but Amy couldn’t allocate dates as she had already agreed to be part of American TV series Super Girl. While Lisa’s character had less screen time, the makers worked on Amy’s role and made it pivotal with more screen space. Even then, she decided to forego.”
In an earlier interview with DC, Kajal revealed that the film would go on floors in October. However, we don’t have any official information about the Tamil version’s shooting schedule.
The makers haven’t got any replacement yet, and the scouting process for the same is going on in full swing.
