Krithi Shetty unwilling to promote Manamey?
It looks like pretty actress Krithi Shetty doesn’t understand the value of promotions and has been giving some sleepless nights to director Sriram Aditya and People Media Factory. “She was asked to spare two days for promotion after her recent film ‘Manamey’ got good openings but she cited her Tamil commitments and avoided calls,” says a source who adds, “She promoted the film prior-to-release and left for Chennai. Post-release promotions like visiting theatres and meeting media has become quite crucial these days. Actresses presence in promotions gives a boost and could draw in more collections,” he adds
She reportedly informed the production team that she has films with Tamil actors like Karthi and Pradeep Ranganathan and couldn’t spare dates. “With audiences reluctant to turn up in theatres, actors have to work doubly hard to keep cash registers ringing. In fact, Krithi was banking on ‘Manamey’ to make a comeback of sorts in Tollywood but she skipped the promotions and affected the collections which have been dropping from Monday and managed Rs 11 crore plus net collections,’ he points out.
Young actresses have to spare more time for pre and post release events since producers are spending a bomb in the making and hope to recover it, while Krithi looked the other way. "This is quite an unhealthy practice," he concludes
