Channeling upcoming talent: Ratheesh Vega
Music composer Ratheesh Vega has opened a YouTube channel to promote budding talents and their works
The latest from music composer Ratheesh Vega is this. He has got a YouTube channel ‘Ratheesh Vega Entertainments’. Jumping to conclusions, we may expect on internet a steady stream of his mellifluous tunes. Sorry, Ratheesh is not the kind of person to blow his own trumpet. He wishes to promote budding talents in the best possible ways he can and set this a perfect springboard for such people.
Having experienced the trials and tribulations en route his journey to popularity and fame, Ratheesh says a fillip at the start of the career could mean a lot. “Just recently some youngsters came to me to get their short film released. They have been going from pillar to post to catch some attention for the work. Someone then suggested them to get a celebrity tag attached so that they can easily sell it.
Reality is so strange. If a commoner does something, it is not given due attention unless it has some star value to boast of. The channel is an upshot of that meeting,” says Ratheesh. Vega has no reservations as he is ready to support any audio-visual genre, be it short film, music or designs, provided the maker has a catchy theme at hand.
The channel, in some way is a testing platform for Vega as well as he is making some investment upon it to nurture the talents. The first work to be released in the channel is an under-progress short film that will for the first time be introduced in the channel. “Seed capital is a part of my income. My recording studio in Thrissur is open for them to do as many activities that can be performed there. Utilising the facilities, a good part of post-production jobs can also be carried out,” Ratheesh explains. He is opening doors for talents who have in mind low-budget productions.
