For Aditi Ravi, the fantasy world of movies was always a fascination. She was curious to know more and be a part of it. And her passion for acting has now fructified with Aditi being cast in Midhun Manuel Thomas’s upcoming Almaara.

Aditi who started off as a model has been on the hunt for the right kind of film for five years. On how she landed in the role, Aditi says, “I sent my details when the audition call was put up for this movie. Somewhere in the back of my head, I had a feeling that they must have already decided whom to cast.”

“But that was not the case when I went there. My audition was taken by Midhun chettan himself. When the director himself was present, I had no doubts about the authenticity of the audition. I was obviously tensed. Quite a few talented people had turned up, but by evening, I received a call from the team informing me that I was selected for the role.”

Excitement was high in her voice as she explained the shooting experience, “The crew was amazing to work with; we were like a family. This is my first movie as heroine. My debut was in a campus movie, which is yet to see light. I feel lucky to have been part of the third film of Midhun Manuel Thomas who made movies like Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeevi Aanu and Ann Maria Kalippilanu. Any newcomer would be ecstatic to be in his team. The shoot is almost completed; only a song is remaining.”

Explaining more about her character, Aditi says, “In Almaara, I play a banker named Swathi opposite Sunny Wayne’s Arun. The story revolves around their love life, marriage and an Almaara gifted on their wedding. It’s a family comedy-entertainer.” The movie is slated for release in February.

The Thrissur lass, who has just completed her graduation, has taken a strong decision before pursuing an MBA. “Before I move ahead for higher studies, I want to act. Everyone in college knew that acting was a craze for me and they used to make fun of me. But the craze slowly became serious and something I was really looking forward to in life.”
