It begins with a simple conversation in the dark, a wife quizzing the husband about whether he remembers the specialty of the next day, the scene then cuts to a man peeping in through the keyhole. Thus begins the short film Yours Lovingly. A quick dose of suspense thriller. Director and writer Naseer Badarudeen wanted the audience to experience a moment of thrill as the characters try to find an answer to an unexpected situation taking place in an apartment. Naseer says he found the thread for this 17-minute-long film in the everyday news that one comes across. “These are things we hear regularly in the news. I guess I had lodged some of these incidents in my mind and that lead me to write this story.”

“Moreover, this being a short film, I felt people might be more drawn to watching a short suspense thriller than any other story, which is why I decided to go ahead and make this movie.” Naseer, an IT professional, has loved cinema from a very young age and he did not shy away from taking a shot at filmmaking either. “Yours Lovingly is my third short film. I just wanted to try out a suspense thriller this time. I like working on all kinds of genres. The last story I penned was a comedy. There is an upcoming project which will go on floors next week, for this I have written a feel-good script. I have also penned an emotional drama for a future project as well.”

Speaking about the actors in Yours Lovingly, he says, “All the actors in this film have been a part of various other projects in the past. Their acting was smooth and that made my work easier too. The actor who plays the male protagonist was an IT professional. But he quit the field to pursue acting full time.” Actor Bilas Nair, who was part of popular movies such as S Durga and Veeram, plays an important role in Yours Lovingly.   Adding an interesting point, Naseer says, “Four techies are part of the movie. These actors are all working in Technopark and they have starred in previous short films as well.” “I did not expect the response I am receiving now. I am very happy with it,” he adds.
