Dreaming cinema

Malayalam writer and filmmaker Anand Unnithan is coming up with his new movie An Idiot and a Beautiful Liar after Smiriti, a movie without dialogues and communicates through metaphoric montages. The upcoming movie, which will be based on a simple love story, will be released in both Malayalam and Hindi. 

Anand Unnithan started dreaming about his career during school days. He used to write stories in magazines and newspapers during his college days and published four books also. Among those, one is a novel. “I started thinking of visualising my thoughts, to express things that words can’t communicate,” says Anand. 

Then he did few documentaries and corporate videos. But now he is trying to come up with a family entertainer movie. "My father is also good critic of movies and his advises during my whole efforts were highly supportive and influential to me and I would say without him I won't be able to go with my film studies and passion."  The movies which influenced Anand during the growth of his passion in movies Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, Sathyajith Ray's Pather panchali, Adoor Gopalkrishnan's Vidhayan and Malayalam blockbuster movie Yodhaa etc.

"An Idiot and a Beautiful Liar" the movie is based on an English novel written by known Bengali and English fictionist Arup Sur who is the script writer of these movie . Upcoming star Maanav and south model jaseela plays the lead roles in this beautiful love story along with other famous actors including Sonia Malhar and Munshi Ranjit. Another highlight of "An idiot and a beautiful liar " is that producer Shipra Sur who is also a classical dancer does choreography for few songs in this movie and the rest done by dance master Sabu Kalabhaha from Dubai. The story is about a character called Rahul, a young civil engineer from Kerala moves to Mumbai for undertaking his new job. There he starts his Mumbai days with his new and known friends. His days pass away with routine job and exploring Mumbai suburbs on a holiday mood. He was taken to a known dance bar in Mumbai by his close friends, he was new to that mesmerizing feel of music and dance mixed with alcohol. Unexpectedly, he has an encounter with a beauty queen and celebrity of that dance, he is being pulled away to that horizon by the drastic dance performance by her from the incident, destiny pulls him to the challenging corner of life and the story narrates his changeover and fight with himself and his destiny. The movie is rich with emotional transformation through which the hero and the heroine goes. " An idiot and a beautiful liar" is a pure commercial entertainment and the director Anand Unnithan, who is the master degree holder in cinema says this will be the sweet party to the audience especially the youth from the Sur production with support of entire team.
