Kochi: The dispute between film producers Sandra Thomas and Vijay Babu has reached the court with Vijay Babu seeking anticipatory bail. The Ernakulam principal sessions court on Thursday directed the Elamakkara police to produce a case diary. Vijay Babu,  managing partner of 'Friday Film House,' claimed that the assault case was filed by Sandra to settle business scores. Sandra, meanwhile, moved  the court to consider her version before considering Babu’s  anticipatory bail plea.   Babu  submitted that they had decided to split and that the difference of opinion over sharing the assets and profits had led to the tussle.  Both had decided to split the partnership and  divide the shares and their profits.

According to  Babu, complainant Sandra and her husband  Wilson John Thomas  went to the office of Friday Film House on January 2 and took away all the title deeds, the original partnership deed, computer system and other documents in the office.  The next day, Wilson came for negotiation and demanded the entire property.  As the negotiation was not successful, Sandra moved the false complaint,  Babu argued. The police maintained that  Babu was absconding. The duo had produced several hit  Malayalam films.
