Pinky, back with a bleat

Three years after its release, Malayalam film Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu starring actor Jayasurya and centred around a goat called Pinky, is all set for a re-release, in a never-before-seen turn of events. The film, which failed to do well in theatres, earned a huge fan following after it hit online platforms, inspiring the makers to come up with its sequel Aadu 2 which went on to become a blockbuster.

Vijay Babu, who produced the movie and its sequel and played comic roles in both the films, made the announcement through social media. His Facebook post read, “First time in the history of world cinema, a movie which did not do well theatrically is getting ready for re-release in more than 50 theatres due to popular demand after the success of its sequel. Aadu Oru Bheekara Jeeviyanu is re-releasing and coming back on March 16. Just one week to go. Enjoy!” 

Interestingly, the announcement was made on March 7, the third anniversary of the release of the first movie. Will Shaji Pappan and co reap success in the second chance is yet to be known. The makers and the fans keep their fingers crossed.
