There is a reluctance in his voice. Govind P. Menon pauses before he talks about his first acting venture. The musician and one of the faces of the popular band Thaikkudam Bridge, is turning Nandha, for Bejoy Nambiar's latest – Solo. The film which appears as four segments will see Govind play a gangster in one, titled Shiva. He will be accompanying Dulquer Salmaan, who is playing lead in all four segments.

“I was not keen on acting but Bejoy is a close friend. When he said there was a role, I said I didn't know anything about acting. He said it'd be a small role. In the end it turned out to be big,” Govind says. He has also composed music for this segment.  “My character was originally a Kochikaran gangster but I couldn't get rid of my Thrissur slang. So they made Nandha a Thrissur kaaran,” Govind says and quotes one of his lines to Dulquer: ‘Neeyenthoota thengayada ee kaanikunne’ - Thrissur slang for ‘what the hell are you doing’.
