Pulimurugan's grand entry

Film industry sources said the film was released in as many as 209 screens in Kerala.

Kochi: Malayalam film industry crossed a new milestone when the Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan was released on 325 screens across India, reportedly the highest for a Malayalam film till now. Film industry sources said the film was released in as many as 209 screens in Kerala. The release of the big budget movie –made with Rs 26 crore—coincided with the release of Mammootty starrer Thoppil Joppan, which left the fans of the two super stars thronging the theatres in large numbers.

Industry sources say it is after a long time that the films of the two super stars of M’town were released on the same day. Fans of Mohanlal in Thrissur celebrated the release of the film in grand style bringing in ‘Pulikkali’ artists to a theatre with the bodies of the ‘tigers’ painted with the picture of the actor. They beat drums and danced along with the ‘tigers’ during the shows outside the theatre.
