Thiruvananthapuram: Film actor Sudheer Karamana, who was the principal of Venganoor Girls Higher Secondary School, alleged that there was a move from some quarters to deliberately derail his acting career by filing flimsy complaints about his unauthorised absence from duty. He told DC he had been acting in films after getting a government order permitting it. However, a section who wanted him to stop acting in the movies has filed a complaint in the Vigilance alleging dereliction of official duty.

‘The case was filed when I was away in Rajasthan while acting in a film. Some persons who want me to stop acting or quit the job were behind the complaint," he said. 'I have never shied away from my duty. I compensated for the days I stayed away from my duty by working on Saturdays, late in the evening or on holidays. None of the students whom I have taught has complained about me. The section of people who were coming out in the open against me had some vested interest,'.

"I have not been taken the salaries for the months of October and November when I stayed completely away from my job. They were pressuring me to quit the job from the school. Why I should quit, when I have done nothing wrong,' he said.
Sudheer, who has acted in over 100 films, is the son of the late actor Karamana Janardhanan Nair.
