When Vinitha Koshy got the call for Aanandam, it was just one day ahead of the shoot. The pretty ‘Lovely miss’ had never thought that she would land a movie role when she did a few Dubsmash videos, which caught the eye of director Ganesh Raj.

“I was working in Singapore when Ganesh called me with the offer. The role was originally planned for someone else,” says Vinitha.

“But, when Ganesh happened to watch my YouTube channel in which I had uploaded my Dubsmash videos, he cast me even without an audition,” says the Kollam native, who was working as a paediatric counsellor in Singapore when the offer came.

So, how did she agree to act for a first-time director just in one day? “Well, what attracted me was the tag of Vineeth Sreenivasan production. My husband was extremely supportive of the entire thing even though my parents, especially my father, were apprehensive in the beginning. Now, all of them are really happy,”says Vineetha.

On her debut acting experience, Vinitha shares, “Being a travel movie, the set was very lively. Even though I had no acting experience, Ganesh had confidence in me. It was a great experience and I am very happy to be part of this wonderful team. Also, it is a happy feeling when people started recognising me for my role.”
Even as the light of Aanandam is still shining, Vinitha reveals that she has already bagged a character role in the upcoming movie Aby directed by Srikant Murali. “Now, I know how to be in sets and all. No longer do I have that fear, even though each production has a different working style,” she signs off.
