International Film Festival of Kerala in Kottayam
The State award winning film Manhole was the inaugural film.
Kotttayam: The third edition of the Kottayam International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) organised by the Kerala Chalachitra Academy, in association with the Artists Association of Theatre, Music and Arts (Aatma) began at the Anaswara Theatre here on Friday. The five-day festival, featuring 20 films including 10 entries from abroad, will come to an end on March 14. The State award winning film of debut women director Vidhu Vincent Manhole was the inaugural film. Well known directors, technicians, and cine artists will participate in the open forum being held every evening.
A film-based photo exhibition of Chitra Krishnankutty and Shahul Karappuzha has also been arranged as part of the festival. Chalachitra Academy Chairman Kamal inaugurated the festival and Cine Director Jayaraj lit the traditional lamp. MLAs Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, K Suresh Kurup, district panchayat president Joshy Philip, VN Vasavan, VB Binu, SBT Deputy General Manager Vinayak Kaisere, Festival Chairman Joshy Mathew, Aatma President Artist Sujatha, Jubilee Joy and Benoy Veloor spoke.
