It is an innocent letter, straightforward words from a mother to a son. But then there can be no better promo for the new film Kaattu, releasing this Friday. Based on a story by legendary filmmaker, the late Padmarajan, his son Anantha Padmanabhan has written a script and his mate since childhood, Murali Gopy acts in it. Radha Lakshmi, Padmarajan’s wife, says she is very happy that he is writing again after a long time, because while his dad had discouraged him from becoming a director, he too had been proud of his son’s writing. Her words recorded in the background of the much-loved theme music of Padmarajan’s movie Thoovanathumbikal has been made into a video, with old photos of the family, newspaper clippings and pictures and posters of Kaattu.
