Mohanlal in short film on road safety
The movie project has been taken up with the CSR support of Indian Oil Corporation.
KOCHI: As part of ‘Subha Yathra’, special programme to check road accidents, the Kerala Police has come up with 10 short films, with a duration of less than one and half minute, on road safety featuring Mohanlal, the goodwill ambassador of the initiative.
Minister Ramesh Chennithala will release the films on February 15 in a function to be held at Kanakakunnu Palace. Thiruvananthapuram range IG Manoj Abraham has coordinated the video production.
The new initiative is part of the multi-pronged traffic awareness campaign of Kerala police to imbibe a culture of road safety among vehicle users.
The films are based on 10 different topics on road safety like use of helmet, seat belt, drunken driving, importance of lane traffic, use of mobile phone while driving, over speeding and obeying traffic rules. The movie project has been taken up with the CSR support of Indian Oil Corporation.
Mohanlal has been actively participating with the ‘Subha Yathra’ campaign and recently he has written an article on road safety titled ‘Nerunnu Subha Yathrakal’ in his official blog.
“The films will be broadcasted through theatres, social media and TV channels to sensitize citizens about traffic rules and precautions to prevent accidents,” said Manoj Abraham. It is directed by Tony Chittettukalam, who has also penned more than 30 books.
