A musical break
The recently-released music video Let's Take a Break, which has gone viral on social media, is a prequel of a film which is all set to start rolling.
Teasers and trailers are being conceived as the videos to introduce the characters as well as the mood of a movie before it hits the screens. But have you ever heard about a music video released as a prequel of a film? The recently-released music video Let’s Take a Break, which has gone viral on social media, is a prequel of a film which is all set to start rolling. Actor Sreeram Ramachandran, who enacted one of the lead roles in the video along with Jude Anthany Joseph and Sharu P Varghese, says that the idea was under discussion for the past few years. “I knew director Pramod Mohan for five years as we have earlier worked together for the sit-com Chumma.”
“From then itself, we were planning to do a film with the same team. It was a few months back that Pramod called me and asked why we couldn’t do a music video with the same cast? When I heard the concept, I became impressed and we started the pre-production for the music video,” he says. Sreeram points out that the film which comes from this team will be having the same actors essaying the roles they did in the music video. “While I act as a musician, Jude will appear as a photographer. Along with us, Siju Wilson, who acted in Chumma, will also join us to essay a pivotal role,” says the actor adding “But the production of the film will start only after Pramod completes his film with Biju Menon.”
It is after a gap of around two years that Sreeram, who has acted in films like Thattathin Marayath and Artist, is facing the camera. “My role in Artist helped me bag many good comments. Just Married was my last film that reached screens. Though I have been getting many offers, I did not find any interesting subjects. It was then Pramod called me for this project. In the same gap, I got a golden opportunity to share screen space with super star Mohanlal in an ad-film. Now I am acting in a film being directed by cinematographer-turned-director Uma Kumarapuram,” he concludes.
