Suriya, Mohanlal were picture perfect: K V Anand
Anand further states that Mohanlal and Suriya were perfect in their roles and that he couldn’t have cast better actors.
Filmmaker K.V. Anand’s forthcoming film, Bandobast (Kaappaan in Tamil) has been garnering a lot of curiosity for its ensemble cast, which includes Suriya, Mohanlal and Arya. While Surya plays an SPG commando, Mohanlal will be seen as a Prime Minister. Ahead of its release on September 20, director Anand gives us a glimpse of the film’s plotline.
“The film doesn’t have any political affinity but it expounds about the sacrifices made by the Special Protection Group (SPG) in their duty to protect the Prime Minister, former PM and their families,” reveals Anand. The plot revolves around how Suriya’s efforts save the PM’s life.
Anand further states that Mohanlal and Suriya were perfect in their roles and that he couldn’t have cast better actors. Suriya is believed to have even visited the National Security Guard office in Delhi to understand how the officers go about their job. “Both the actors were lightning quick to slip into their characters; they delivered stellar performances,” adds Anand.
Before turning filmmaker, Anand was a photo-journalist and had the opportunity to meet several chief ministers as a part of his job. “All that knowledge came in handy while writing the script and the protocol of high-profile politicians,” reveals the filmmaker, who says he’s been toying with the idea of such a film for a long time.
