Malayalam actress assault: Pulsar Suni's former lawyer told to give statement
The court refused to pass any order in the case and adjourned the case to Tuesday.
Kochi: The Kerala High Court asked advocate Pradeesh Chacko to appear before the police and give a statement. The HC adjourned his anticipatory bail plea to Thursday. Police has sent notices to Pradeesh for a statement in the case in which actor Dileep is in police custody. The court, while considering the anticipatory bail application of Pradeesh, also asked why counsel for Pulsar Suni is apprehending arrest if he was not involved in any crime. The court refused to pass any order in the case and adjourned the case to Tuesday.
Prosecution submitted that Pulsar Suni had deposed before the court that he had handed over the phone used to record the act to his counsel Pradeesh Chacko. The court pointed out that notice under CrPC 41 A is only asking to appear before the police for interrogation and it was not for arrest. According to prosecution, it suspects the involvement of petitioner for causing disappearance of evidence. The charge-sheet mentioned about the 'Redmi' mobile used to record assault.
Charge sheet mentioned that Sunil had handed over the phone to Pradeesh Chacko on February 23. After this the accused Pulsar Suni had gone to surrender before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Ernakulam. The police had issued notice to the petitioner to appear before the Investigating officer, but he filed police harassment petition.
