Abhinav had a dream when he came to Kochi.
Abhinav had a dream when he came to Kochi. To work for the police force, to become an SI. His dad, a constable, had died and he needed this job. But life changes when he falls into the company of a group of young men and begins celebrating his independence. Somewhere he forgets his aims. That’s Dry: The Days After in a gist. A film made by debutant Vishakh Punna. But there is more to Dry. “It has to do with alcoholism and the laws of the land,” says Vishakh explaining the title. It’s got 13 new faces as actors, more on the technical side.
Roshan Mathews, a Mumbai-based Malayali who studied acting at the New York Film Institute plays the male lead. Female lead appears in a different form, says Vishakh, who has made a few short films and music video before. Aristo Suresh has sung a song for the film. Dry releases on March 17.
