Mammootty announces Kunjachan's return

Fans of Malayalam superstar Mammootty are thrilled after the actor uploaded on Facebook a poster of his iconic movie Kottayam kunjachan’s sequel. The film that was released in 1991 was one of the iconic movies of Mammootty’s career. The character, Kunjachan, a local thug of Kottayam, is regarded as one of his best performances till date. Kottayam Kunjachan 2 is being directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas, who helmed the blockbuster hit Aadu 2 recently. The film will be produced by Vijay Babu.

Kottayam Kunjachan was directed by T S Suresh Babu, with a script by Dennis Joseph which is based on a Muttathu Varkey novel. In his iconic role, Mammootty played an ex-goon who starts staying in the outhouse of a family and ends up taking care of them following a few unprecedented events.  Adding more to the excitement of fans, Mammootty’s son and actor Dulquer  Salman posted the picture and wrote “Ashaaaaneeeeee Joshi Chadhichu! OMG ! The most iconic Kottayam Kunjachan is getting a sequel !!!! Woohooooooo.”
