Dileep in court for easing bail norms
Wants to go to Dubai for opening shop.
Kochi: Actor Dileep, out on bail in the abduction and sexual assault of a female actor, has moved the High Court seeking relaxation in bail conditions so as to enable him travel abroad. In his petition, Mr Dileep requested the court to take steps to return his passport so that he could attend and inaugurate the launch of a new outlet of his eatery chain 'De Puttu' at Karama in Dubai. The actor had earlier submitted his passport before the Angamaly magistrate court as par one of the bail conditions.
However, the petition had no mention of the dates on which he wanted to travel abroad. The eatery chain outlet launch is scheduled on November 29 though. The court is set to take up the plea in the coming days. Meanwhile, sources said the Special Investigation Team (SIT) would strongly oppose the plea to relax bail conditions, citing possibilities of influencing the witnesses.
Mr Dileep is currently facing conspiracy charges and the SIT is set to submit the additional chargesheet in the case in two days. The investigation officers had summoned the actor again for questioning the other day as part of preparing a foolproof chargesheet. This after the probe revealed that actor Dileep "obtained" fake medical certificate to show that he was admitted to hospital at that time. The investigation officers wanted to preempt any move by the opposition camp to argue that the accused was at another place during the attack.
